Is getting vitamin C injections good for health and mainly skin? Does it really make the skin flawless?

I'm thinking of getting vitamin C injections to make my skin (mainly face) look less fatigue and more energetic and lively. Is getting vitamin C injections good for health and mainly skin? Does it really make the skin flawless?
That's a new one to me! Have you thought of actually ingesting the vitamin and/or taking a good multi-vitamin, eating right (lots of salads, fruits, and veggies) and of course, getting a good night's sleep (8 hours). Also, don't smoke and drink to excess, wear moisturizer and sun block. Is getting vitamin C injections good for health and mainly skin? Does it really make the skin flawless?
Have you tried ';non -invasive'; things first? I am not sure what your symptoms are but I would suggest using something like an Avocado mask, for a while and see how that works. You can read how to make such a mask at http://greatskinhealth.com/avocado-and-skin-health.html
If you go to your local pharmacy, they can tell you probably more than a Dr. can about vitamins or drugs and what really works.but the answer one of the other members wrote about good foods and taking C internally seems right. I agree. Get lots of sleep and stay out of the sun too.
try increasing your Vitamin C through your dietary intake instead

take Ester C , alpha lipolic , DMAE vitamins ( to help with anti aging of the skin)

eat berries , cantaloupe, salmon

increase your water consumption

do a OTC micro dermabrasion or chemical peel

  • What can be done about loose skin after a diet?

I'm about to start a diet after spending 2 years bulking up. Some colleagues from work had crash diets and lost loads of weight, but were left with loose sking hanging from their bellies and arms. It looks rank! These guys were proper obese, like, BMI well over 35.

What can be done about this? Can I do something to avoid this when i loose weight myself? What about my friends? Is it surgery only?

Thanks a lot for your views guys! What can be done about loose skin after a diet?
When you loose a lot of weight and end up with loose skin there is nothing you can do other than surgically removing it. What happens is when you gain a lot of weight the skin stretches to accommodate our growing bellies, the elasticity in the skin is lost and once the elasticity is lost you can't get it back no matter how much exercise you do.What can be done about loose skin after a diet?
My advice to you would be to lose weight rather slowly (2-3 pounds a week), that's the best way to prevent loose skin. As far as your friends, surgery is probably the only option, depending on how much loose skin they have.
Losing weight is just a snap of time if you only know how can you make your metabolism go fast or burn fast. By making your metabolism go fast your belle will be gone your stored fat will be burn. Don't make heavy weight a problem.
    It will depend how much weight you are losing but;

Exfoliating and body-brushing everyday should help (:
Just make sure you do plenty of exercise whilst you're losing the weight.
There are thousands of skin creams out there on the market claiming to help firm up sagging skin; but the question is, do these creams really do what they claim to do?

The truth is that even though these creams are quite expensive, most of them are not effective. The manufacturers of most of these products are just cashing in on the increase in demand for sagging skin remedies/creams.

They know that their products do not do what they claim, so they put these products in attractive packages; use beautiful models in their advertisements and pay famous celebrities to endorse their products. Of course the costs of all these marketing gimmicks are passed down to you- the consumer

You need to know that, when you pay that exorbitant price for that skin cream, you are not just paying for the value of the product; you are also paying for the beautiful advertisements and celebrity endorsements.

All the same, there are still companies that actually manufacture products that are effective in firming up sagging skin.

It is important to mention that sagging skin is caused when the collagen and elastic fibers in the skin lose their ';glue';. This happens when a harmful enzyme called hyaluronidase breaks down the hyaluronic acid in the skin (don't let those weird names put you off)

Hyaluronic acid is an essential component of the skin involved in tissue repair; it is quite understandable, that the breakdown of this component leads to total break down of the skin tissue which results in loose skin or sagging skin.

The most effective way to solve the problem of sagging skin is by stopping the activity of the harmful enzyme before any damage is done.

Studies have shown that a special Japanese kelp called Phytessence Wakame blocks and counters the activities of this enzyme very effectively. Wakame is a powerful anti-oxidant held in high regard by the Japanese for its ability to keep the skin looking supple and youthful.

    Collagen provides firmness to the body while elastin maintains the elasticity of the skin by helping it stay flexible; this means that without enough collagen and elastin, the body literally ';falls apart';

Therefore, another way to firm up loose sagging skin is by using skin care products that contain ingredients that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin naturally in the body; from research, I found out that one of such ingredients is Cynergy TK. This is necessary because as we age, the amount of collagen and elastin produced by our bodies decreases and degrades.

Cynergy TK is a unique substance that promotes the growth of natural collagen and elastin thereby enhancing firmness and elasticity.

Other ways you can firm up sagging skin include exercising to tone up your body, good diet of green vegetables and fruits; and drinking at least eight glasses of purified water to detoxify your body.

Now that you know what causes sagging skin and how to firm it up, you do not need to buy any sagging skin cream you see on the market without making sure that it really contains the ingredients that will help firm up your loose sagging skin.

Buying skin care cream that contains Cynergy TK and Phytessence Wakame will help you achieve your goal of firming up your loose sagging skin.

    Hope it Help,

    Josh
While losing weight can transform your body and health for the better, for those who have managed a large weight reduction it can create new problems. If weight loss has been achieved rapidly, the successful dieter can be left with loose skin, particularly around the abdomen. There are many products which claim to tighten skin, however their results are minimal. Surgery is an option in extreme cases, but before considering such a choice, it's worth following these steps.

Step 1-Think of how long it took your body to reach your highest weight. It didn't happen overnight, so you can't really expect your skin to become taut in such a short space of time.

Many surgeons recommend waiting two years from the day you reach your weight loss target before even considering surgery. This allows you to exhaust all options available naturally before entering into a costly and potential dangerous operation.

Step 2-Nourish your skin and encourage it's elasticity. Exfoliate your skin daily to encourage removal of dead skin cells. Doing this each day will stimulate your skin's circulation which should help in tightening skin up.

Step 3-Treat yourself to a hot hour-long bath once or twice a week. While the bath is being drawn, add 1/2lb of pure sea salt to the water and allow it to dissolve. Besides relaxing your body and muscles, it will draw toxins out of your skin and will improve your overall skin tone.

Step 4-Determine what your body fat percentage is. It's impossible to differentiate loose skin from body fat without this figure. Many gyms are able to assess your body for this.

Step 5-While you may have reached your goal weight, it's possible that your body fat percentage is still high. In order to reduce this, you should strive to change your body's composition by reducing fat and replacing it with muscle. If you haven't done so already, speak to a gym or a personal trainer to work on an exercise plan which will help you achieve this.

Step 6-Aloe vera extract, soy protein and yeast extract can improve your skin's elasticity by increasing your body's production of elastin and collagen. It not only tightens your skin but your skin's natural defenses as well.

Step 7-Eating raw food such as cucumber, tomato, olives and coconut can mark an improvement in your skin's elasticity.

Step 8-Hyaluronic Acid is naturally found in our body's tissues. It depletes over time, so it's worth supplementing your diet with some. It is critical for muscle growth, so if you're replacing pounds of fat with muscle, it's definitely worth taking. Smokers tend to be lacking this nutrient. It needs magnesium to synthesize, so ensure you're taking magnesium daily to reap its benefits.

So no, surgery isn't recommended all the time. Tell them to try these first %26amp; if it don't work, then yes, maybe surgery is needed.

For you, I'd recommend dieting %26amp; exercising at the same time to avoid it.

    Good luck! =]

Depends. The first couple of pills i went on gave me about 20 spots, and i had perfect skin before!! Now i've got scars :(. With the one i'm on atm i usually get 1 or 2 spots just before and during my period; might change again next month and i know there's only 1 more a higher estrogen level in- if you want better skin you want a pill with a high estrogen level in (is also apparently ment to make your boobs bigger!), high depends on your natural hormone levels though. What can I do about the skin on and around my nose peeling?

I've been sick and have been blowing my nose for over a week. It's red and angry looking and very sore. Is there a cream or rub I can use? What can I do about the skin on and around my nose peeling?
Apply Chap Stick, that contains aloe vera ... a couple times a day and at bed time ... then only use facial tissue that contains lotion, when blowing your nose. It should heal quite quickly. If you ever get another cold, don't use anything but a facial tissue that contains lotion ... and you'll never have a chapped beak again.:)What can I do about the skin on and around my nose peeling?
A little bit of oil of olay skin cream will make it feel much better....

    Aloe works real well too!
    use any cream.
Put some aloe vera on it or vitamin E that will help
Stop squezing all the moisture out and get Aveeno oat meal facial scrub.
I had that problem for years. Over the years I have tried many things but nothing worked. Three weeks ago my doctor gave me this and it cleared it up. Ask your doctor for TRIAMCINOLON 0.1% CRE. It work.
use a non perfume lotion lightly and not constantly.give it abit every so often
Just use any kind of moisturizer and it will heal on its own too in about a week. One good thing to do is to sleep with a little bit of vasiline on it or baby oil and by the morning it should absorb. And you can also just put on a thin layer during the day and rub it in good so you dont look greasy.
    try using face scrub gels...

    or

also just after taking bath - take a moist soft cloth and rub some soap on it. then try rubbing it slowly on the area which is peeling.. do this very slowly and in an upward motion.

What to do if your facial skin is peeling from a sunburn?

I've had my face sunburned before and I have just delt with it. It seems this times its much worse than normal. I also have somewhere important to go tomorrow night and am not sure what I should do. I was thinking about using an exfoliating scrub or a microdemabrasion (sp?) thing that I have but I have no idea if it will make it worse. Any advice greatly appreciated. What to do if your facial skin is peeling from a sunburn?
Exfoliating and the microdermabrasion will only make it worse and could end up making scabs and scarring your face. Your skin needs to peel naturally because the skin underneath is VERY delicate and not ready come out yet. Aloe gel should help with some of the dryness.

Next time you get burned, follow these steps:

First of all, you need to take some Ibuprofin (if you're not allergic to it). It will help reduce the swelling and pain.

Second, take a very cool to cold bath--this will help reduce the damage that the burn did to your skin. It will also help with the swelling, pain, and redness. If you can't take a bath, get some ice and rub it on the burned areas.

Third, drink plenty of clear fluids and make sure you're keeping hydrated.

If you have blisters, do NOT pop them. This will not only hurt, but it can leave bad scars. Blisters mean you have at least second degree burns. Not good!

If you have a lot of blisters, especially if you have a fever or the blisters have pus in them, you need to immediately go to the doctor. You probably have sun poisoning. This is very dangerous and can make you very sick.

If your skin is peeling, do not ';help'; it along...don't peel your skin. That also can cause very bad scarring (I have a big scar on my nose from peeling it as a kid when I had a sunburn--I'm now 35 and the scar is still there!).What to do if your facial skin is peeling from a sunburn?
you should try some shear butter you can get that at a local cvs i belive
There is only one thing u can do and that is keep it moisterizes with a good lotion and stay out of the sun
Have you seen a dermatologist??? Or your doctor??? Have you tried aloe on your burns??? There is also a product called after sun, that has aloe and a lotion in it. It might help.
wear sunscreen next time and aloe cream makes it feel better
well the bottom line is black people not stupid enough to go outside long enough to get sunburn
    use aloe vera lotion
moisturize it and let it peel naturally or go see a dermitoligist
I use Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream or The Body Shop's cocoa butter moisturizing stick. I find a lot of aloe vera gels have alcohol in them. Next time try a homeopathic remedy (cantharis) to prevent blistering/peeling.
    use aloe vera
yeah aloe vera does work very well.. or u can just use a moisturizer.. remember next time to wear oil-free sunblock when u go out in the sun

=] hope it works! good luck!

    xox- amanda
leave it alone, and don't pick at it. that will make it worse. before you go out, put a good facial moisturizer on.(like oil of olay) this will help the edges not peel any more. use a good liquid foundation, and apply makeup to avoid discoloration. You face won't look oily, because it is so dry from the burn, it will absorb all of the moisture.
    aloe vera.
Honestly - this is what you need to do!

Este Lauder makes an ';after sun'; cream that is amazing. It smells like melon. Anyway, It will shop the peeling, and your burn will heal MUCH faster. I cruise alot, and burn and peel...this stuff saved my life!

By the way - all aloe vera does is to relieve the sunburn, and the pain. It does NOTHING for peeling whatever!
put vaseline all over your face for about 20 minutes or so, a warm cloth over that will help as well, then GENTLY exfoliate with a wash cloth, anything harsher than that will tear your all ready damaged skin up more. After you've washed it, add some more lotion, non oily so your face isn't too shiny and go easy on the make up.
Lots of aloe vera (apply it often between now and tomorrow night) and ride it out. May God bless and keep you.
    NO SCRUBS

    use noxema or aloe veraaaa

if its really hot then use ice cubes. it works
    DUCT TAPE
keep your face moisturized, that will take the appearance of dry flakey skin away. and when you shower, use a body exfoliating sponge and gently go over the spots where its peeling the worst. its best to do it when your face is wet because then it wont harm the skin that isnt damaged.
Well use some aloe vera duhh.....ur welcome and start using it or u will ruin ur skin so yea.....
Don't use a scrub!! It will just make you more red and make the burn worse. Use aloe vera and moisturizer, also wear spf when you are going to be in the sun.. If you want the redness to go away before tommorow you should use after sun alove vera soothing gel, tinted moisturizer, and a good foundation. Good Luck!

I fell in love with the Andrew Weil's products at Origin's. (Origins. com). I use this mushroom serum and then moisturizer after I wash my face twice a day. Not only is it a great preventative for lines, it helps remove redness and large pores very quickly. I got a starter kit for $50 which is expensive for me, but you just use a little bit so it lasts quite awhile. You should check it out!

  • What mode of natural selection does skin color fall under?

    Directional / Diversifying / Stabilizing ?

Also, what are the selection pressures associated with changing skin color? What mode of natural selection does skin color fall under?
In humans there is arguably many different kinds of selection going on, depending on specifically which facet of skin colour you're looking at.

For example, production of ANY amount of melanin is arguably undergoing stabilizing selection. People who are albinoes and cannot produce melanin usually have a pronounced disadvantage in any environment, so production is 'stabilized'. The same might be said for the ability to vary melanin production with sun exposure to account for seasonal variation and the like - those who can't do this have more problems (though a lot less than an albino).

In certain ecologies, the selection seems to be directional. When the sun beats down constantly, it is an advantage to always be producing lots of melanin... and the more you produce the more of an advantage it is (which is a contrast with stabilizing selection). And vice versa in regions where there is little sunlight, as it may interfere with other skin functions. This is a small pressure compared to the above one, though, because many people with the 'wrong' skin colour do just fine in those environments (technology certainly lowers the impact of it!).

At no point can I think of diversifying selection to be important in human skin colour. There is no reason why it would be an advantage to have different colours, nor is there a location where people naturally have many, many colours unless they just happened to inherit them. What mode of natural selection does skin color fall under?
Since there are multiple skin colors, I would guess the mode of selection to be Diversifying.

One suspected pressure involves the amount of ultraviolet light exposure the population receives.and the need to synthesize vitamin D.

The best wrinkle cream that you can use is the one you custom make for yourself. Unfortunately most products on the shelf contain just enough of the active ingredient to show a slight change in the skin. If you are happy with these results, just imagine how great you would feel about the results when you double the amount of active ingredients to your own product, plus save up to 75-90% off. You'll get all kinds of advice on what is the best. But ';the proof in the pudding';. It must first of all work. It should be safe on the skin, free of any synthetic ingredients.

    The company my wife and I came across made a statement that 'the skin care products you put on your skin should be safe enough to eat';

That caught my attention because I had no intention of eating any face cream.

But they went on to explain that what you put on your skin is absorbed into it - good or bad ingredients. Eventually some the ingredients could make its way to your bloodstream. Not that it would kill you or make you sick but it certainly wouldn't enhance your overall health in the long run.

What I got out of this is that what you put on your skin should be as safe as what you put in your mouth. Wholesome nutritious food and natural vitamins. This company uses no synthetic but rather all natural ingredients. Ingredients that your body uses beneficially anyway.

Now beyond this I am not much more knowledgeable. This is the company that my wife and I get all of our skin care and nutritional supplements from. I trust their honesty and total openness of what goes into their products. They have all kinds of good information you can have. Sign up for their newsletter it is very informative.

Good Luck!

How would Meladerm Skin Lightening Cream work for African American Skin?

I want to try Meladerm to lighten my uneven skin tone, get rid of scars and stretch marks. Will it work, how long will it take to see full results? Is it safe for African American skin? How would Meladerm Skin Lightening Cream work for African American Skin?
It is safe depending on your skin type. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to try it on a patch of skin like your inner wrist or inner ankle to see if you have an allergic reaction.

All skin lightening creams work differently so just be patient and make sure you give yourself at least 6 wks to see the results. Also, make sure that you're using sunscreen that is at least an SPF of 30. That will prevent any new skin and old scars from becoming darker. Try using a mild exfoliator because that will help to slough off the dead skin and make it more even toned.

Pay attention to your diet and drink plenty of water. Stay wawy from junk food and greasy foods. Fruits and veggies will also help to change the tone and texture of your skin. Last but not least... watch your stress levels. Stress can make you eat bad foods and breakout. You don't want to worry about new scars and breakouts... Good luck!!How would Meladerm Skin Lightening Cream work for African American Skin?
I think its safe because it is a skin like all other skins. Just ask the pharmasist where from u r buying it.

How can I stop the pain of having my fingernail ripped from my skin?

    I broke a nail.

I never thought that I would say that. And I definatly never thought that it would hurt this much. I have a bandade on it but it doesn't seem to be working.

What else can I do?How can I stop the pain of having my fingernail ripped from my skin?
Ouch! Have you tried Neosporin? It's very effective as a pain reliever. I'd recommend putting some Neosporin on it, slap on a band-aid, and pop an Aspirin or two. Hope it feels better soon. How can I stop the pain of having my fingernail ripped from my skin?
    Aspirin.
yea, that happened to me too and i thought it would never happen, but apparently it does. all you can really do is let it heal, try not to keep the bandage on for to long cause then it won't heal quickly. i hope it wasn't your whole nail, cause i don't know what to do. but yea all you can do is just wait for it to heal and for ur nail to grow back.
I don't know but if you find out don't tell anyone at Guantanamo Bay - you'll ruin their fun.

What should you use to heal skin after wearing a cast for 6 weeks?

I broke my leg which required surgery and got the cast off on Monday but the skin on my foot is very swollen and horrible. I need to soften up the skin before I can do my exercises. Little bit worried about using perfumed products on broken skin. I've been soaking it in olive oil and warm water which is ok but any other suggestions??What should you use to heal skin after wearing a cast for 6 weeks?
Using tepid water along with a moisturizing body wash , along with copious amounts of lotion and vitamin ';E'; will help if the body wash burns discontinue use at once , tepid water will not pull as many of the oils from your skin as hot water will .I have found there are a couple products that work well but need applied through out the day , Nivia face cream works as does the walmart brand of coco butter (brown pump bottle ) there is also a product called dermarest for psoriasis I get very dry skin in winter and have found tepid showers , coco lotion after the shower and through out the day along with dermarest applied on the hands(where it is the worst for me) works well for a body wash I use st ives ,whipped silk and run a humidifier as well helps a great deal , Also drink a bit more water as this will help too..

    Aprox total cost for above

    dermarest $8

coco butter lotion $4 (large bottle)

    st,Ives whipped silk $3

If you want the nivia face cream in tub ... a bit expensive at $9 bucks I

think works well as well .

And a humidifier if you chose prices range from 20 -100 bucks and more ...What should you use to heal skin after wearing a cast for 6 weeks?
Have a nice relaxing bath, because if you are relaxed then it will be easier for you to get your leg back to its normal state. If you feel comfortable putting bubbles in your bath do it, if you don't then the obvious!!! DON'T

    Get better soon =].x
Try using moisturizing cream. There are several kinds found at drug stores that don't contain any perfume. Other than that continue soaking it in warm water. I've never tried oils.
    Hi,

Try some Avon products, they really help as well as Coco Butter.

    Isabel
Use gold bond lotion. for a couple of days before the lotion put vaseline on the really bad places.
bag balm - awesome stuff, it was originally used on cows utters.
No, you are doing the right thing. When the skin hardens a little bit, then you can use a god moisturizing cream, something very light.Olive oil is a wonderful healer, as well as a good softening for the skin., As to say it will bring it back to it's natural condition. When the broken skin heals, then get a very light skin milk, or lotion, like nivea etc, and rub lightly in. It will take a while for the skin to come back to the normal state, as having a caste on always has this reaction.

How do i obtain a fairer skin tone?

My skin is quite dark and growing darker because the product i used didn't quite work...So how do i make my skin fairer and do you know of any good sunblock? How do i obtain a fairer skin tone?
    use natural products

take lemon juice and rub it on ur skin u can wash it off after its dry

milk+honey+sugar+strawberries mashed togather or blended will not only make the skin softer and smoother but also make it somewhat brighter. Mary Kate and Ashely sunblock is great. it isn't guaranteed that it will protect you from getting darker so sunblock does , it just protects you from the rely dangerous rays the sun produces like ultra violet rays. when i use sunblock for some reason my skin gets darker don't know if its the same for you and if you have zits i advice you not to use sunblock it contains oil and that will make you break out even more. i have combination skin different oil levels on different sides. go to the drug store and get these blue pads to dry off your skin , its usually used after you wash your face to dry it out without drying it , i used it once to see how much my oil level was , i took it and pressed it around my skin in different areas ( nose , forehead , cheeks , neck ) i had different levels and so i knew i was combination skin so i would have to use normal things like normal face cream.

if you have allot of oil then you have oily skin , less oil then you have dry skin. etc. thnx for 2 points. How do i obtain a fairer skin tone?
try a mild skin lightening soap (black licorice soap), dermaline skin whitening cream, and a high spf sunscreen.. the soap and cream can correct the uneven skin tone or lighten skin; then the sunscreen will keep it from further darkening and sun damage.
    applyt lemon juice and honey

What is causing a change in skin pigmentation around the eyes?

I have always had dark circles and puffiness under the eyes, but in the last few months patches of lightend skin has developed under and above the eyes in the same places on each side, above the eye, on the inner corner, under the brow, and below the eye also towards the inner corner. The lightened skin is on the same place under and above both eyes. I hope this not too confusing. If anybody has this or knows what might be causing this please let me know, Thankyou. What is causing a change in skin pigmentation around the eyes?
I'm not a dermatologist... that's really who you should consult... but I can tell you that there is a condition called vitiligo that can cause light patches of skin on people of all colors (not just black people.) Other things that can cause skin pigmentation changes are lupus (REQUIRES medical attention - type Lupus in your search bar and all kinds of info will come up) and melasma (non-lethal, I have it, no big deal) but I think both of those usually create dark splotches on the face rather than light spots. Age %26amp; medications could have something to do with it too... if you can't afford to see a doctor, I would ask a pharmacist - they might recognize it right off and direct you to something over the counter. Good luck!

How to get rid of facial skin black mole?

I have two facial skin black mole on my left cheek and I want to get rid of it so I could just see my skin color. I'm not refering to the disease kind of mole. Is there any suggestion out there? How to get rid of facial skin black mole?
If you have a mole on your face often times the best idea is to see a dermatologist. They can remove the mole with a simple in office excision. They numb the skin under and around the mole and cut it off. Sometimes your family doctor can do it but it is better to see a dermatologist because there is less chance of scarring that way. Hope this helps.

“Skin-whitening products work in various ways. Some contain acids that remove old skin to reveal newer, lighter skin underneath. Others inhibit melanin, like those with mulberry extract, licorice extract, kojic acid, arbutin and hydroquinone, an ingredient in prescription creams for blemishes as well as in photo processing materials. Some of the most effective agents are also risky — and are often the least expensive, like mercury-based ingredients or hydroquinone, which in Thailand sells for about $20 per kilogram (2.2 pounds), compared with highly concentrated licorice extract, which sells for about $20,000 per kilogram. Hydroquinone has been shown to cause leukemia in mice and other animals. The European Union banned it from cosmetics in 2001, but it shows up in bootleg creams in the developing world. It is sold in the United States as an over-the-counter drug, but with a concentration of hydroquinone not exceeding 2 percent.” http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/14/

Mainly the Skin Whitening Ingredients works in two ways to give you a whiter skin: 1. By absorbing the UV rays, thus preventing the sun from darkening your skin. 2. By reducing the production of melanin, the skin pigment found in your skin which is responsible for skin darkening. Here are some of the ingredients you may find in your skin whitening products:

Kojic Acid: It is used to lighten the skin in Japan. It is a tyrosinase inhibitor. That would explain how it reduces the production of skin pigment, melanin.

Licorice Extract: This absorbs the UVA and UVB rays. It also is a depigmenting agent and inhibits the production of melanin. Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera appears to absorb UV light. That would account for its mild skin lightening abilities.

Octyl-p-methoxycinnamate: This is a sunscreen. It absorbs UV light very well, preventing the UV rays from darkening your skin.

Octyl salicylate: This is a salt of the saliculic acid that is found in wintergreen leaves. It is a sunscreen, found in sun tan lotions.

Oxybenzone: This is a sunscreen chemical that absorbs UVA rays. http://www.ultimate-cosmetics.com/skin-w…

    I found these sites by typing these phrases into yahoo search: ';Ingredients in skin lighteners'; and ';How do skin lighteners work?'; and ';pros and cons of skin lighteners';

    Good luck. :)

What does an internal suture which is coming ot the surface of the skin feel and look like?

My dog had internal sutures. Then his incision site got infected. The vet said he may be rejecting an internal suture and that the antibiotics will help push the suture out to the surface.

Do you think he meant that it would be pushed up to the skin? Or actually all the way out? I feel something thin and plasticky just under his skin, near where the surgical site was. What does an internal suture which is coming ot the surface of the skin feel and look like?
    That's what it is.

If he seems okay otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.

It may or may not actually push through the skin.

    Add:

    It probably won't push through.

If it does, you should be able to get ahold of it with a tweezers %26amp; give it a very gentle tug. If it doesn't easily come out just snip off what's already through.

Of course, your vet should be glad to do this free of charge since it's all follow up from the surgery. What does an internal suture which is coming ot the surface of the skin feel and look like?
Internal stitches are usually made with a thread that dissolves over a period of time. My dog actually had a piece stick through about a month after he got neutered. I took him in and they clipped it off and said that if any others did the same thing to just clip them so he wouldn't mess with them and irritate the area more.
That happened with my sister's dog quite some time after her spay. They noticed two bumps on her surgery scar that were hard, slightly red and irritated looking.

They took her back to the vet who said that the underlying tissue had scared and was pushing the two sutures out. He was able to remove them right then and there.

After that, she has had not more problems and you can barely see her scar.

  • Does anyone know why, when i exercise indoors and start to sweat, my skin gets freezing cold to the touch?

I myslef don't feel cold, im not shivering or anything like that, but if you were to feel my sides or my back, my skin feels freezing. It happens after if been exercising for about a half hour and have been sweating quite a bit. It takes about 5 - 10 minutes after i stop for the temp to come back to normal. Does anyone know why, when i exercise indoors and start to sweat, my skin gets freezing cold to the touch?
You sweat, then the sweat starts to evaporate. Evaporation always means dissipation of heat. So, the sweat evaporates causing your skin to cool. =)Does anyone know why, when i exercise indoors and start to sweat, my skin gets freezing cold to the touch?
when you exercise, your body temperature starts to go up and your sweat helps to have your body temperature normal. but if you feel freezing or have a cold skin during exercise, you might be in danger of heat stroke.

i dont know if you drink eanough water during exercise or not and if you got headache or vertigo and if your sking color turns to red, but when you sweat much, you are in danger for heat stroke so my advice is to drink alot of water during exercise and see a doctor.

you really need to vistit a doctor or an exercise expert
i guess it's because sweating is the bodie's way of cooling off... i guess...

How do I get porcelain looking skin?

I have pretty good skin already (a couple breakout spots, but nothing major) but I want to know how to get my skin to look as flawless as the people on tv. What type of makeup (brands, formula, anything you know about face makeup) would make my skin look perfect without looking fake?

Thanks! How do I get porcelain looking skin?
You have to realize they have had professional make up artists to put the most expensive brands of makeup on and they have been photo shopped to the absolute maxxx.

But you can at least drink lots of water, get plenty of sleep (a MUST) and wash all makeup off before going to sleep.

I've seen an infomercial about airbrush foundation, but I forgot where to buy it.

    Try googling it.
they all use water-based spray make up. it can get pretty expensive but i saw and ad for it on tv. it goes on flawlessly (or so i've heard)
As the people on TV? Lots of makeup, and lots of photoshop
    Makeup is not the answer

The key is clearer skin. Wash your face daily with neutrogena.

For those break out spots, go to your dermatologist and ask for the samples of differin. Put just a dab on the broken out area just before you go to bed. A little bit goes a long way. Within a few days, you will see clearer results. It's the only thing that has ever helped me rid my face of dirt, oil and blemishes.

Put a dime sized amount of Aveeno into the palm of your hands and lightly apply to face. It will help you glow while keeping your skin moisturized.

Your skin will look very nice but perfection is not guaranteed because no one is perfect. That 'perfect' complexion that the actors have is because of tons of foundation covering all their blemishes and amazing photoshop artist.

I have done corrections on photoshop and taken makeup classes to know that's the truth.

What foods can you eat to get rid of spots and have glowing skin?

And please be precise. Don't just say fruit %26amp; veg, I already know that lol but what kind of fruits are good for the skin AND also any foods that are good for the eyes? What foods can you eat to get rid of spots and have glowing skin?
    foods rich in antioxidants.

    herbal teas (especially green)

good fats : fish, avocado, nuts, peanut butter (fish oil is good for skin and hair)

bee pollen ( sprinkle on food , salads)

    berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)

carrot juice FOR EYES ( VITAMIN A )

vitamin c for skin ( oranges, lemons, kiwi)What foods can you eat to get rid of spots and have glowing skin?
Anything with vitamin A and antioxidants. Carrots, citrus, broccoli... Drink plenty of water,

Washing your face everyday with a good facial scrub will help a lot too, by getting rid of dead skin; and, if you have age spots, you need to use one of those products on the market that removes them, although it will take time.

And remember that nature has not played fair in either the number and quality of its gifts. Just as some people can eat just about anything and never gain weight, some people just naturally have shiny, glowing, healthy skin and hair whereas others don't.

I don't know what your personal situation is, but you can improve on what you have and be ';the best that you can be,'; but don't expect miracles.
Carrots are great for your eyes.

Berries are good forr your skin. (strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, etc.)
almonds give you shiney healthy hair. getting healthy foods such as your vegetables and fruits and drinking plenty water it will make you looks healthy and glowing (=
Well you probably already know that carrots are good for the eyes, but somthing else you could do is not eat choclate and drink more water. That is what my mom tells me. X D
    water
Avocado is good for skin. Carrots and cucumbers are good for eyes. Wolfberries are great for general health, and are good for skin, eyes.

make a skin scrub out of sugar and honey. exfoliate gently, wash off, enjoy glowing skin. cucumber slices go on eyelids... very good results!
First and foremost, drink alot of water.

Spinach or any dark leaf green like kale; and baby carrots are good for eyes.

try eating blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, red grapes, raisins, prunes, (yes, prunes)... they have alot of antioxidants... and great for your skin..
    tomatoes n carrots
Nuts, fish and other sources are good.

If you keep to your 5 a day and have a balanced diet then you should get gorgeous skin. Also drink lots of water and juices.

Having lovely skin doesn't always count on what you eat though, you need to exfoliate regularly and moisturise daily. Once you have a good routine going for your skin then what you eat is just added on.
*Broccoli is VERY good for your skin, especially you have acne problems.

*Carrots enhance the health of skin and very good for your eyesight, it helps you see well at night.

*Garlic is a natural antibiotic and will help relieve skin bacterial infections

*Also, lime juice is good is a natural aid for healthy skin.

The use of orange or tangerine juice has also been found valuable for a glowing complexion, like you were asking.

Almonds, yogurt..you name it, just eat bout 5 vegetables or fruits a day, and it will keep your skin as healthy and natural as possible, trust me.

If you want good skin, keep away from soda and fried food.

Some fruits which are really good for your skin are bananas and oranges, try drinking freshly squeezed juices, they are very healthy for you.
i read cucumbers are good for the skim if you eat them a lot.

carrots and gaucamole are good for the eyes

I have blotchy skin, black heads and big pores and occasionally some pimples. How can I make my skin clear?

I want clearer skin. I used to have lots of pimples but i got them away and i am left with some of the old scars and blotchy, blackheaded skin.

Does anyone have any tips to make my skin clearer and nicer?I have blotchy skin, black heads and big pores and occasionally some pimples. How can I make my skin clear?
if you can afford it, go see a dermatologist. It has helped me so much!! prescription products also work way better than over-the-counter. I love Retin-A Micro, a prescription product that exfoliates skin and helps get rid of blackheads. I think I owe my clear skin to Retin-A!

Also, try the Clinique 3- Step system. Expensive, but worth it. The products last a long time, so you get plenty of bang for your buck. It makes my skin amazingly soft and glowing. You can get it at Nordstrom, Sephora, Macy's, but I get it at Clinique.com, where I usually snag free shipping and there is the most product selection.I have blotchy skin, black heads and big pores and occasionally some pimples. How can I make my skin clear?
If you have had moderate to severe acne you may have some scars that are still visible. These scars can be classified as raised (above the skin), or pitted (below the skin). The bumps from raised scars are often treated with microdermabrasion, dermabrasion, chemical peels or lasers.

There is also help for the very worse of the scars left from acne, the very deep pitted ones. These deep scars can often be lessened with the help of injectables like Hylaform, Restylane, Cosmoderm or Cosmoplast. These plump up the contour irregularities which gives the skin a more uniform appearance. You must see a physician to utilize this treatment.

There is also a new type of laser known as Fraxel which recently got FDA approval for the treatment of scars caused by acne. This laser makes tiny microscopic tears in the skin which remove damaged skin and induce new collagen production to smooth out the skin. Fraxel treatment is known to be just as effective as the CO2 laser (another treatment method for scars from acne and wrinkles which is known for effective results), without the downtime. It is said that if you make your Fraxel laser treatment appointment for Friday, your skin will most likely be ready for work on Monday.

Common side effects are redness and swelling. This treatment has a generally positive reputation and some regard it as a ';breakthrough'; method of treating acne scars. Advocates say that it gives you ablative (invasive) laser level results with non-ablative level recovery. Most describe the pain level as well-tolerated, however, it does not seem like this procedure would be good for somebody with a low threshold for pain or discomfort. To minimize pain find a doctor who uses a ';cool air spray'; during the procedure. Some report dramatic results after one treatment although usually it will take 4 to 5. The average price of Fraxel laser treatments is between $1,000 to $1,200 per treatment (although most doctors offer treatment bundle discounts, such as 4 treatments for $3,000).

As for your blotchy skin, you can use Glyquin XM Skin bleaching cream among her favorite skin products. It fades hyperpigmentation (areas of the face that are a darker color than the rest of your skin). It hydrates skin, contains an SPF, and also includes vitamin C, E, and glycolic acid. I have included the URL to this product. It's big celebrity secret. How do I know? Because I'm a make-up artist in this industry. =)

    Hope this helps.
First, you should get a facial to get rid of the blackheads. Then, you use Origins Drink Up Moisture Mask. The directions say to leave it on for 10 min, but I have found it more effective leaving it on for 20 minutes. Also, drinking a lot of water really does clear the skin.
Try some Proactive or Clearasil. my friends said those worked for them.
ProActive! I use that everyday. It works
this may sound stupid, but seriously, if you put that Mederma scar removal on your skin, it will help 5 times better than the normal stuff. i even use iit and its helping!!!!!!!!!!! good luck with your skin!!!鈽衡樆
Go to your doctor and they can give you some cream which takes them away Use this at night.

During the day, use foundation over the whole face. One with good coverage and one which matches your skin tone. Apply some blush over your cheekbones.

But make sure you take your make up off properly.
Have you tried Pro-Activ? Short of that, you might want to try using Noxzema every night until you get to a dermatologist and see what s/he recommends.
Try Pro Active. I heard it was pretty good.
    get proactiv

How can I make sure my skin is nice for my wedding in December?

I occasionally get mild breakouts but they take forever to go away. My skin just lacks that healthy, fresh glow. I also have acne/ little bumps on my back and arms and my dress is strapless. I have tried so many things and I'm hoping with 5 months to go, I have time to find something that works. How can I make sure my skin is nice for my wedding in December?
Rodan and Fields Unblemish. It has dermatologist quality medicines in it. It also cleans your skin from the inside out making your skin healthier, more radiant, not just treating the acne. Each regimen comes with a 60 day supply and there is a 60 day money back guarantee, but I use it and it really works. In july or August they are also suppose to be coming out with an acne body cleanser and acne spray. For more information go to www.rodanandfields.com/jallanHow can I make sure my skin is nice for my wedding in December?
Clean %26amp; Clear Persa-Gel 10!!! It's basically benzoyl peroxide. This stuff is AWESOME. It is the ONLY thing that worked even through my worst breakouts when I got pregnant and I thought I was doomed to have terrible skin for 9 months -- nope! This stuff is truly great AND inexpensive (try CVS or Wal-mart, etc)! Congrats and good luck!

Oh, and I have tried more expensive stuff, too ... so many things irritate my skin or sting and make me red, but this is the best ... trust me!
go to a doctor (dermatalogist) they will help u!!! u got a lot of time!!! it worked for me i had little bumps that looked like acne on my arms and they gave some lotions and they were gone in 2 months!!! good look and congrats!!!!!!!!!
I suggest you use the Not so basic body care line by Arbonne. I use this entire line on my family and we have zero break outs. Here is the link: naturalsafebeneficial.myarbonne.com

    Best of luck and Congratulations!
visit acne.com, they have great tips. Also, ask your general physician, mine mentioned that I should come in 2 weeks before the wedding and he can give me an injection that will clear up my skin!

What are those spots on my skin after i peeled a scab?

I know its bad to peel a scab, but I did it anyways...well after i peeled my scab there were like purpleish..spots. what are they? is it like an infection? or is it supposed to be like this? O_O its pretty disgusting. Will it ever go away? What are those spots on my skin after i peeled a scab?
It sounds pretty normal. If the cut was bad, that's the beginning of scarring, and picking it is going to make the scars more obvious. The skin is still healing, the scab is there to protect the skin until it's ready. So I would slather some Neosporin on it, and if you're worried about infection, pour some Hydrogen Peroxide on it first. Put a Band-Aid on top, too, so that can act as an artificial scab and help protect it. Hope this helps! What are those spots on my skin after i peeled a scab?
Must have been a pretty bad scrape or something. When skin grows back it does so in nodules that then spread until they meet up with other nodules. What you're describing sounds like that.

Is standing over a hot pan while its steaming really good for your skin?

My friend says that it is good to stand over a steaming pan and it is like a facial and is good for your skin. Is that true?Is standing over a hot pan while its steaming really good for your skin?
on the stove or to hot will prb burn you

take it off and let it cool some to a slow steam

since yes steam helps open poor and clean lungs from phelmIs standing over a hot pan while its steaming really good for your skin?
It opens your pores which allows them to unclog, but if you open them and then are around and put unclean stuff on your face then it's bad, if you use something good on your face like an exfoliate or a mask then the exfoliate or the mask or face wash will be extra effective. Just be sure you finish with cool water and part your face dry to let your pores not stay susceptible.
yes it is. it cleans out your pores. =]

  • Why does my cat have extra skin hanging from his tummy ?

He just got a lion cut. He has got skin (like excess fat or something) hanging from his belly area. He has never been an obese cat.Why does my cat have extra skin hanging from his tummy ?
Just extra skin and fat. Very common and nothing to worry about if your cat isn't overweight. Why does my cat have extra skin hanging from his tummy ?
    How old is your cat?

Some of my cats have that swinging under them too,.. they're NOT fat, but older.
lots of cats get this it can be due to being spade or neuted.
My cat has too I guess that is normal and I think too because they eat alot
Most cats get 'love handles' in front of their back legs. It's part of getting older. Even my little 7 pound male has them and he's definately on the thin side.
If your cat is a bit older, and neutered, it likely is simply a loss of some muscle tone, and gravity has entered into the picture.
Everyone has fat, and cats are no exception. I have a cat who's fat just jiggles back and forth from his tummy when he walks and he isn't an obese cat.
Angelo has this as well. He's a big boy - not really fat, just big. When he runs I can see the skin moving from side to side, and it's pretty cute. I wouldn't worry about it.
Your cat is fat. It needs a diet.

How often should you exfoliate your skin?

    whatever ur skin is

    dry,oily,sensitive

never use exfoliate/face srub more that twice a week

    NEVER.....it will irritate ur skin

If your skin is sensitive, I think you should exfoliate your skin 2- 3 times a week.
    um.

What face wash has cleared your skin the best?

I have ugly pimples, and i want Taylor Swifts flawless skin.

Yea, Yea i know its probebly not really flawless but i want my face to look like that. What face wash has cleared your skin the best?
I always get compliments on my skin and while a good majority is probably genetics, I do believe that face wash matters. I have three top choices in no particular order: Basis bar soap (cheap and basic but gives you the purest clean without stripping your skin), Neutrogena Cream cleanser, and Garnier Nutritioniste. What face wash has cleared your skin the best?
I would see a dermatologist. I had moderate acne and used all kinds of pimple cream and harsh face washes, but my dermatologist told me I have really sensitive skin and being so harsh on my face was making it look shiny because I was making it raw and it caused it to break out horribly. Once I started using Cetaphyl to wash my face and Aveeno Ultra Calming face lotion, it just cleared up on its own in a few months. If you can't see a dermatologist, try being nice to your skin and using face lotion (at least at night) and a mild cleanser and see if that doesn't help.
use stridex, after about a week of using it your skin is totally clear !

i love it, i suggest getting it.
Clearasil works wonders %26amp; it really doesn't dry out ur skin or make it oily
    clean and clear totally works.

What is the best way to color your stub without damaging your facial skin?

I want to know, what product can I use that will color my stub which is fast becoming white, but at the same time not damage my skin or rest of the hair.

is their any natural product available? What is the best way to color your stub without damaging your facial skin?
any semi-permanents hair color will do. At my salon we use Paul Mitchell and it works great! the only thing is think about how often do you shave and how often its going to last. just make sure u have some alcohol handy to wipe excess of off face. most semi permanents u leave on for about 20 mins and they wont damage skin or hair. What is the best way to color your stub without damaging your facial skin?
They have natural hair dye at Sally Beauty Supply.
Your ';stub';!?!? If you are referring to the fact that you are an amputee and need to apply makeup to make the color of the scar tissue on your amputated ';stub'; limb match the rest of your skin, then I recommend Dior Concealer and try some Chanel Skintimate Blemish Smoother. I suggest you talk to a professional cosmetologist to get the best matches, perhaps somebody who specializes in reconstructive makeup, your doctor may be able to make a recommendation. Also, I am not certain but it may be psychologically unhealthy to refer to your severed limb as a ';stub';. You may wish to visit a support group for amputees or other professional counselling if you have negative feelings towards the remaining portion of the limb or body image issues because of it.
Check out the beauty supply stores. I have seen natural dyes but I don't know if you can use them on your face or who long they last. I know that wal mart sells hair color for men that you can use on your face. You just comb it in.

What can i do for the open pores in my skin? How can i lessen the oiliness of my skin?

I'm 25 year old male and i have extremely oily skin. My skin even becomes oily 5 minutes after washing my face and when i wake up at night my skin is so oily you can fry an egg on it. To top of it all off I have open pores on my nose and on my cheeks. How can i control or lessen the oiliness of my skin? Ive tried almost every oil control regimen and it wont work. How can i lessen the appearance of the open pores? iI've tried pore reducing formulas like Neutrogena and LOreal but nothing works. So i just powder my face to make it look clean but still after a while it becomes so cumbersome because of the oiliness. Please help me. ThanksWhat can i do for the open pores in my skin? How can i lessen the oiliness of my skin?
Try a good moistuizer...this may sound counterintuitive but bear with me.....many times ';oily'; skin is actually due to the fact that the skin cells do not have enough moisture so they increase oil production to ';trap'; what little moisture may be available. The subsequent decreased need for oil production may also lessen the appearance of pore size. What can i do for the open pores in my skin? How can i lessen the oiliness of my skin?
what you need to do is use steam and get your pores open really good then you wash your face with like clearisol or one of those type of products, then you rinse it out. (now here is where your pores will look less visible) you ';snap'; your pores shut with really cold water, then it will be clean and harder for dirt particles to get in and it will be harder to have oily skin.

  • How do you get rid of skin redness after pimples?

I don't have very many pimples but every time I get one it leaves a red dot when it goes away so I have a load of red dots on my face which look worse than the pimples themselves. Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it? I have tried benzol peroxide and toothpaste but they don't seem to work... (Plus Mum keeps asking me why I've got toothpaste on my face)How do you get rid of skin redness after pimples?
hahaha I love the toothpaste comment. I use that too, it seems to work better for actually clearing up the zits. basically the redness is scar tissue, so be careful! it sounds like your skin is just like mine. I really like this stuff called corium 21. Its sold at a high end swap meet in orange county, but I think they sell it on line. it is kind of expensive, but its really worth it!! it works great for just about anything, sun burns, dry skin, acne, you name it it does it.... I love it and you barely need to use any! here is the web site:

http://corium21.com/How do you get rid of skin redness after pimples?
    skin cream or moisturizer
I used to be in the same boat as you. Occasionally I would get pimples, but they always left a red mark that lightens over 6 months or more. Soooo annoying!

Until I described my pimples to a homeopath - mine always start off as a painful little bump under the skin. No one can even see it on the first day. Then they become a bit more noticeable and swell . still no pus head. They then turn hard and painful. and after a bit of touching and all kinds of creams, ointments and warm compress it starts to form a head.

I must have described my type of pimple so well, that the homeopath prescribed Belladonna 200 - just one dose which is 4 little white pellets in one go. I suck them at the first sign of a pimple forming under my skin. In about 5 hours, the pain and the pimple are gone! I waited for the next pimple to start to form a few weeks later, and did the same just ONE dose of Belladonna 200. Boom! Gone! I had to do this just 3 times. After that my pimples have never returned. It has been several months now. I know for a fact the belladonna has done it as I had tried every thing. Now there is no question of getting marks as pimples never have a chance to grow to their full size. They are dissolved at the first sign of pain under the skin. I am so excited that I tell everyone on answers about it - who ever has similar type of pimples to me.. painful, red and under the skin. Good luck!
I know exactly what you're talking about!

I had exactly the same problem.

The pimples were a breeze to get rid of,

it was just the scars they left behind!

You can cover them with some good concealer,

but it wont help it go away,

just cover it until it kinda fades.

I went to get my monthly facial,

and i asked the lady about solutions.

and she recommended me Overnight Clearing Gel.

Not ONLY did it get rid of those annoying red scars,

    but it prevented pimples.

I bought the bottle from the place for $50,

but i've seen it for $40.

It might seem like alot, but it's lasted quite a while,

and the money's really worth it :D

What is the best way to lose weight without risk of excess loose skin?

I've been doing well with my running which has helped me lose 15lbs however, I really want to lose another 30-40lbs to be at my healthy weight. I'm worried that if i continue to do this, i'll be stuck with ugly loose skin (which i know would be better than being overweight) but if there is any way i can help avoid this through exersice techniques/methods, please share.

Thanks! What is the best way to lose weight without risk of excess loose skin?
There are a number of things you can do to help increase the elasticity of your skin while your losing weight. Lose the weight slowly, through diet and exercise. Hydrate yourself well, and stay hydrated. Eat foods high in Omega 3 fatty acids, which is very good for skin and cell regeneration. (cold water fish and tree nuts are very good, healthful sources of this essential fatty acid.)

But remember, each of these things can only help so much, becaue if you really damged your skin while you were gaining weight (IE gained it so fast that your skin errupted in stretch marks) you will probobly have at least some saggy skin you can't get rid of. (but there are creams that are sold by plastic surgeans that can help reduce the appearance of scars, and it works wonders on stretch marks.)

Hope that helps. What is the best way to lose weight without risk of excess loose skin?
depending on your age, losing 30-40 pounds shouldn't be enough to cause a lot of loose skin. as long as you lose the weight naturaly and slowly-no fads or fast weight loss programs- and keep excercising to tone, you should have no problems. good luck.
I lost `112 pounds, no loose skin, but I exercised 6 days a week and my job is very physical, so I lucked out. However, I have met people that have lost a lot of weight and the loose skin is unbelievable.

Don't have any exercise tips but if you are concerned, I would seek out a trainer or pick up a book on exercise from your local library.

    Best of luck !
The loose skin completely depends on your age. If you are over 30 it will be hard to avoid and will most likely require surgery to get rid of. If you are not older than that, you have nothing to worry about because your skin still has elasticity and will keep up with your new weight.
diet and exercise. just don't starve yourself. If you intake proper nutrition your body will slim as you go. There may be periods of loose skin, but if you are steady and don't lose too fast, your body will catch up.

    Congrats!
lose slowly and good exercise routine and skincare also

Read tips %26amp; articles on different types of diets, exercise programs, yoga %26amp; much more....

All about weight loss, weight watchers, Tea diets, easy home exercises to name a few
being active is the best way to tone skin, but sometimes, no matter how much exercise you get, skin that has been stretched to maximun capacity by obesity is not going to recover, then the only option is plastic surgery to remove it.
Water is key. I know it sounds cliche but it is. I am a massage therapist and nutritionist so I know this one. There are many factors to self care, especially when you're dealing with extreme weight loss. First and most important, you need to be easy, slow and careful about how much weight you're losing and how fast you are losing it. If you lose the weight at a healthy pace using only diet and exercise programs right for you that you and your doctor agreed on, you really should have that much left over loose skin. Vitamin E and Q-10 supps are things to talk about with Dr. and WATER! WATER! WATER! It's not over rated by any means, in fact, it's looked over too frequently. My pet peeves are people who say ';Im dieting, trying to lose weight'; as their popping the cap on a diet coke..IT'S BAD FOR YOU! Drink water! 64 to 70 ounces a day, every day!! K!!??

What should i do about the skin under eyes?

I'm really self concious about my dark under eyes. Also the skin under my eyes is very fragile, hollow, and has some lines so i can't cover it up with makeup or it'll look worse. There's also these little tiny bumps that look like a hole bunch of white heads under them too.

I use to have like perfect eyes like a few months ago. I don't know what happened. I've been really depressed over it and My mom won't take me to the dermatoligst so i don't know what to do?What should i do about the skin under eyes?
well, dark circle under your eyes usually indicates of lack of sleep or stress, and daily diet has something to do with it too somehow, the best you can do is have a plenty of sleep and drink tons and tons of water daily, use foundation instead of powder to hide the dark circle and concealer with yellow or green undertone will do the magic too..

Is it possible to clone ones skin and use it for burn scar treatment?

Is it possible to clone ones skin and use it for burn scar treatment? Which companies do that? Thanks. Is it possible to clone ones skin and use it for burn scar treatment?
try this site concerned with skin and eczema too ,it has many useful links also http://eczemadestroyer.blogspot.com/Is it possible to clone ones skin and use it for burn scar treatment?
To even create skin you need to grow it as part of a similar mammal's body.

It cannot be grown just on it's own in a tank or something if you get me.

So no companies will do it, it would be far too complicated, it's unethical, can go wrong etc.

However, you can have skin grafts - they remove good layers of skin from other parts of your body, such as the tops of your thighs, and have it replace the missing skin over the burn scar.

Your thigh would be healthy enough to regenerate it's own skin, with minimal scarring.
It is not cloning, but cell-cultures are used widely in burn care.

How to get rid of splitting skin at end of fingernail?

I work at FedEx handling packages in a dusty and rough environment, and lately at the end of my fingernails right at the corners the skin has been splitting and bleeding. It so painful for such a little wound, but i can't even write because my thumb and pointer finger both have them and they are so pressure sensitive. Anyone know of any makeshift cures etc for this? How to get rid of splitting skin at end of fingernail?
i get those ALL the time...its soo annoying right? what i put is vaseline every night so that it heals..and it works and th eresults come in a week...and in the daytime just put a bandage tightly around ur finger...How to get rid of splitting skin at end of fingernail?
First of all it might be a sign from your body telling you that you dont have enough vitamins in your body. Eat healthier and try taking skin and hair pills which make your skin smoother and stronger and less prone to tearing.

Rubbing some olive oil helps healing and while working use gloves or band-aids
Apply antibiotic ointment and wrap over night.watch for signs of infection.keep cuts dry and covered.repeat this 3 times a day until it heals.
I put bandaids on mine whilst I was working and then at night moisturised them to stop them from drying out.

How can I help my oily skin without expensive products?

How can I make my skin less shiny and oily without paying a lot of money? How can I help my oily skin without expensive products?
I have very oily skin, especially my forehead, nose and cheekbone area. my skin is also very sensitive to products

Oily skin can be very sensitive, as most people might not realize. using the wrong products and cleansing the wrong way can cause breakouts as much as oiliness!

Treat your oily skin GENTLY, ive learned this the hard way.

you don't mention breakouts, though most oily skinned people do at least get the odd pimple here and there.

I suggest, wash your face no more that 2 x a day, anymore will cause irritation and extra oiliies! A cleanser that is oil-free is best, and one with no frgrance, a good one to try is

Free %26amp;Clear liquid cleanser, look for it online.. it works best for me, wash with your finger tips only, scrubbing can actually cause breakouts on some people (im one of them) during the middle of the day, use oil blotting papers to absorb the oil until you wash your face at night.if your THAT oily, skip the moisturizers, they'll just clog your pores, despite what people say! IF you have any 'dry' spots use the lightest shearest oil-free moisturizer you can find. and use it only there. for me it's my chin. and believe it or not Milk of Magnesia makes a good oil absorbing mask! the plain kind. look for a light sunblock, try different ones, an SPF of 15 at least. use that instead of moisturizer! why add extra grase on grease?

Wash your face with morning and night (only)

use oil absorbing sheets during the day.( I use several a day)

Skip creams (except on dry patches, if needed)

Use spf 15 sunblock when needed.(they all feel a bit greasy)

no scrubbing or too many washings (trust me there)

Try the MOM mask a few times a week.

Free %26amp;Clear is less than $8 bucks for an 8 oz bottle

it lasts over a month for me.

oh by the way, Bar Soap can really clog your pores, it contains animal fat! Free %26amp; Clear contains Glycerin.

if you have oily skin like mine, you can't change that, but you can control it to an extent. keep it simple and gentle.

P.S. most moisturizers contain the same things as the skins natural sebum, like Cholesterol, tryglycerides, fatty acids and oils

that's why I say avoid them! see what I mean??

the exception is a good sunblock that you can use. the sun causes wrinkles later in life!

Good luckHow can I help my oily skin without expensive products?
I used to have oily skin. But now i keep putting baby powder on it before i go to bed, and now all the oil has dissapeared. if you do that, i thin kit will remove the oil. try that! x Report Abuse

Don't use baby powder! That will only clog your pores!! Try oatmeal ar egg WHITES. I use only water on my face and if I ever get pimples, I put astringent on (like Sea Breeze). I NEVER put any soap on my face. Sounds gross? All your skin needs is water to stay clean. Report Abuse

I rinse my face with lemon juice - helps with acnea too. Report Abuse

i recommend cetaphil as daily cleanser

the homemade facemask at least once a week helps too (oatmeal, milk, calamansi and egg white). Report Abuse

Wash your face with a paste made of (real)oatmeal and (fat-free)milk. Put some on your clean wash cloth or a damp cotton pad and wash as normal. Rinse thoroughly. Get more recipes @ http://www.BeautyBuyNature.com Report Abuse

Reality is most of the 'expensive' products are expensive by brand name only.

Many of the most expensive or even medium expensive products are no different than the very very cheap choices. Including AVON, Mary Kay, etc.

Thats a fact from most chemist experts. Report Abuse

Apple Cider Vinegar is something that is often overlooked. It is excellent for any skin condition including oilyness and breakouts. Dab on full strength with cotton or dilute if you can't stand the smell. It works if you care enough to try it! Report Abuse

Start taking vitamin E and fish oil. They are wonderful for your skin.
St. Ives Apricot scrub...works for me.
eat oranges. honestly, they'll fix everything within a little bit.
i know you already have a bunch of anwswers to your question, but if you get done this far i have a little peice of advice for you.. if you are ever on the run and you see that your face has become really oily, and you dont want to spend your dollars on those oil abosorbing strips.. go into the bathroom and see if they have the toilet paper covers, they may not be cute and pretty but they have the same function as the oil absorbing papers.. just pull one out and pad it on your face. it's free and you dont have to worry about rubbing all your makeup off. you might think thats grose, but ive done it, and i didnt make it up... i read it.. somewhere. good luck!
I had the oiliest skin around and I could write my name on my face by the work. No one told me then that it was necessary to use moisturiser and wash often. Here's a story-take from it what you will-as a teenager I liked the look of my legs if I used hand creme on my legs. I oiled them up every day and they were really pretty. Years later, the skin on my legs is very dry and I must use something on my legs or they are so dry. I would go by an inexpensive moisturiser and wash my face often with good soap and always moisturise afterwards. I was advised to use all this stuff to clean my face but nothing cut the oil and still doesn't on my nose. There was a book written and I don't know who wrote it or what the name of it was but it was an inexpensive way to use household products and they were as good the better stuff. I'm sure it's still around and can be found with the internet and then the library. I still use a lot of St. Ives products altho I can afford more. I used to buy a very expensive scrub and their apricot scrub is just about as good. I also use their masks. It all helps to have good skin. The other thing that might help is to learn what products are actually worth the $ and then go to places like Marshall's and see what you come up with. I have found some fantasic stuff their from sugar free flavors, great clothes, and very interesting body products. Oh yea and the best, best facial soap. Try them. And T J Maxx etc. . .Oily skin is a lot of work to make look fresh. And the best powder I found was translucent loose Corn Silk for sopping up the oil without looking like I had heavy makeup on. Plus it has a little sparkle in it that I always liked. Just keep washing and moisturising. It will get there. And last is a real strange one but is great especially if you happen to have a lemon tree. I used lemon as an astringent. I would just cut one up after I cleaned my face and then rub it all over. Then rinse it off. Someone told me about it and I thought it was a joke but it worked. Clean and lemon juice-nothing else. Just recently on Oprah this woman was talking about using lemon on your face. It really clears it up and my skin looked so much better. No joke-I promise.
I'd say just wash your face a lot and don't touch your face a lot either. Some people in my school (and sometimes even me) will put toothpaste on their pimple so that it may burn it and help it to go away faster. They do wash it off though of course. If you want to use creams or other treatment, I use Pure Zone pore unclogging scrub cleanser, Mary Kay acne treatment gel, Clean %26amp; Clear morning burst, and Clearasil face pads. These methods all work really well. You can find most of these (I don't know if Mary Kay sales in stores, but i really doubt that they do) in grocery stores, skin care places, or places like Target. I would also suggest that when trying new products that you look on the back to see whether or not it has oil in it. If it does I would suggest not to use it because it will only lead to an even oilier face and I know you don't want that. :D
    Lauren,

All products expensive or inexpensive pretty much do the same thing on your skin. The fact that your skin is oily is a nutrition problem. Alum will draw excess oiliness, do not use alcohol of any kind and that includes most toners. Just keep the face extremely clean with a gel soap bar and stop eating oily foods and do drink your required 8-10 glasses of water daily. Use a mask at least once a week to deep clean the skin.
The best make-up that I have found for my oily skin is ';Bare Essential';. It is a bit expensive, but you can get them on QVC cheaper than at the stores. I try a sample, and now I can't leave without them, even in the heat of the summer you look fresh not grease. Always buy products for oily or combination skin.
When I was in college, a woman who was older and had pretty skin told me to use Oil of Olay daily ... I thought she was nuts! But I also figured, hey, I've tried everything else! So tried it. Go figure, after a week, I was sold on it and have been using it for years now. Try it for a week or two, it does wonders for oily skin.
I've dealt with an oily nose all my life, and I've tried everything in the stores with varying degrees of success, usually not effective at all. So I went searching the Internet and tried a few products, and I can GUARANTEE you that this product will do a great job on oily skin. It's Cuticura medicated soap. It's an antibacterial, and I think that's a big part of the reason it does so good. It's only $2 a bar, and shipping is only a few dollars (less than $5) if you use the USPS Standard shipping option. Stop wasting your money. (I've tried over 20 products) This will work like magic. I'm positive. Good luck.

I've had some success with Noxzema, but nothing comes close to Cuticura medicated soap.
    Hey Lauren.

I have really oily skin- trust me, I know how you feel. I've tried countless acne products over the years, but only one combination really works for me. I use the Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Clean Pads (twice a day, before bed and when I wake up) to get rid of the oils on my face. Then, I use the Proactive Solution Repairing Lotion to get rid of tough pimples (once a day, before bed). Neither of them require washing your face repeatedly or using a special ';face brush'; to scratch all the skin on your face.

I know they can be a bit pricey, but I've had the same Proactive bottle for six months now, and the same Clearasil Wipes for about two months. They last a really long time, and are super effective without drying out your face.

Hope I helped, and good luck!
    Inexpensive?

    Blotting papers!
actually it's now proven that whatever you eat, even oil foods, doesn't affect your skin...so..but i would try some homemade products..or clean and clear shine control or w/e its called with the moring bursting beads..works great on me..and only cost like $3-$6....and the biore astringment or however u spell it..works great..
All other answers and techniques are about treating the surface. Try treating the inside out, or finding the root of the problem.

Try taking milk thistle extract ($5 Walmart). It cleans your liver and gets all the toxins out through waste instead of through your face.

Take 2 pills, twice a day for a week. Drink a lot of water and you'll be amazed. Your skin will look great.

Just try it for a week. Anything you put on your skin is simply after the damage has already been done. Oily skin and pimples are a result of an imbalance.
Believe it or not when I used to work for the bank, a customer came in and commented to a co-worker that her daughter was a model and to control acne and oily skin, she would use antacid, simply over-the-counter antacid. All she did was wash her face with it like regular soap.

Several days later her skin started to clear up and she admitted that she had been using the antacid.
Actually, if you wash your face too frequently (with non-moisturizing soap) then that tends to over-dry your skin. Because your skin is so dry, your body tries to compensate with producing more oils. This makes your skin shiny and oily. Also, stress will release lots of oils through your skin.
EVEENO always helped my oily skin and did a good job
I use Neutrogena and I am getting good results so far for only about $4 or $5. Don't use too much lotion on your face either because that makes it oily as well. I'm not saying you shouldn't use it but when you go to the store ask around and see if they could suggest what's a good lotion that won't make your face oily, I bet they'll recommend a few products that will help to make your skin less shiny and oily. Goodluck! =]
I have super oily skin too. What I use is the new oil-free Acne Stress Control Power-Foam Wash with MicroClear Technology by Neutrogena. It works wonders on acne.I saw results within days. Its great, and it costs a lot less then the acne treatments you see on tv.
rice paper seems to take oil away from the face
There is a clean and clear product out there. It is orange it comes in s shower gel type with a pump. You can buy it at any grocery store. (they have one for oily and also for sensitive skin)Also Make sure to use a cleanser @ night. Clean and clear also makes a cleanser. Make sure in the morning after you use the the shower cleanser use a light facial cream. Make sure its really light so as not to make you break out. Also Clean and clear makes an awesome pimple killer its a small tube its the next best thing to going to the dermatologist. Only use a dab of that on any blemishes. Do not over use this product because it can really hurt your skin. I wish I remembered the names. But they are all clean and clear. Also as long as you have a regular skin care system you will have great skin! Good luck
olive oil seems to work for me
idk how do you get rid of oily har??
    a light coating of flour
Use the old Ivory bar soap when you wash.
You can also use isopropal alcohol (don't drink it, as it is for external use only). I did this, and I also had a brush made for complexion, by Fuller. It kept the pores open. I do still use from time to time.
so oily it can fry a chicken
go to rite aid. there is a lot of like 5.99 products there. they have really good products
