How often should you exfoliate your skin?

I use this Dove Gentle Exfoliation stuff, I love using it and have very light skin that is easily damaged. It seems, though, that everyday it is the same and I need to use the exfoliator again. How often is it safe to use for the sake of my skin?How often should you exfoliate your skin?
