Does anyone know what causes more skin to grow in an uncircumsized penis?

I just noticed this last week that my penis now has more skin. I want to know if this is an infection. When I peel my skin back to clean the inside of my penis, it feels uncomfortable. I have never had this problem before.

Should I get circumsized?Does anyone know what causes more skin to grow in an uncircumsized penis?
It's possible that you masturbated too roughly, and hence swelled a little. Try to be easy on it for a few days, avoid doing anything rough (or sex, for example).

In case it's in infection, pull the foreskin back and wash the head when you shower; it should only take less than 10 seconds to do that. Dry it after you're done showering (dryness prevents any bacteria growth, if that's the case).

Ultimately, if it gets worse or doesn't get any better in a few days, you should see a doctor. Surgery/circumcision is not needed. Ask the doctor to prescribe antibiotics/creams instead.

Here are the risks of circumcision that you should take into consideration.

In a medical study, it was found that females are more likely to hit orgasm with an uncircumcised man:

The lubricated foreskin (on the inside... like your eyelids) slides up and down during sex and masturbation to stimulate the head (which is why you don't hear of uncircumcised guys needing lube to masturbate).

Studies have found that circumcision reduces sensitivity (this article also mentions how it has lost popularity in the USA in recent times):

And despite being more sensitive, uncircumcised guys still last in the same six minute range (average) that circumcised guys do:

Makes masturbation more difficult:

Which makes sense, that's how circumcision was promoted in the USA:

Increases erectile dysfunction rates:

If too much skin is removed in circumcision, it can make the penis smaller since the penis needs some skin to expand during an erection:

And ultimately, circumcision has become less common everywhere. If she ends up going through multiple relationships, chances are that you won't be the only uncircumcised one. Teach her how to use it (when the time comes) and how to enjoy it. The USA is the last developed nation to circumcise a large amount of newborns without medical or religious reasons, but even our rates have gone from almost 90% back in the 1970s to as low as 14% in some states in the past few years.
