What are the two flaps os skin under the tongue called?

I know they are nothing dangerous because they are present bilaterally. However, one of them started hurting suddenly. I know they are not the frenulum. They are about 10mm long and about 2 mm wide. They are not of symmetrical shape, but are similar to each other. They lie flat on the bottom side of my tongue and are usually not bothered. I have never paid them much attention until now, and just got curious.What are the two flaps os skin under the tongue called?
