How do you match foundation to skin at a drug store?

because i need to go to drug stores since department stores are really inconvenient and expensive! but i am not very good at matching my skin tone.. is there anything i can do?How do you match foundation to skin at a drug store?
Ask the store their return policy on makeup if its the wrong color.

Also you can go to the stores that let you try makeup before you buy it and at least find what colors are best for your skin tone and look for those colors in the drug store.

I have seen on cover girl displays with a plastic square labeled with foundation colors and clear square in the middle of each to hold over your hand to see which matches your tone best.

(I believe it was for TRUblend)

One other thing you might look into is Avon or MaryKay.

They have reps that will help you find your color and even give you samples to try before you buy.

I don't believe they are as expensive as department stores. How do you match foundation to skin at a drug store?
use your best judgment. hold the bottle up to your skin. don't go breaking any seals.

usually there should be a range- from lightest to darkest.
You use the testers and put them on the side of your neck and see if the colour matches.

Buy from a drugstore that will allow you to return the foundation if it's not right-not sure but RiteAid or Walgreens may have that policy. Avon also will let you return anything you don't like and if you catch the items on sale, the prices are decent.
