Scrubs for getting rid of dead skin cells?

I want nice healthy looking skin, i have acne and i think getting away all the dead skin cells would improve it... i hope. So are there anyhome remedies? I heard sugar and olive oil. but i also heard you can use those but also add in other ingridients like salt honey and milk? And how much of each? i don't know what to use! Also if there are any good ones from the store that get rid of them you can say those too, but i already know about St. Ives apricot scrub so anything else is better.Scrubs for getting rid of dead skin cells?
Your entire outer skin consists of dead cells. The body isn't keen on presenting live cells directly to the outside world, preferring to protect them with a layer of dead cells or secretions (mucous, tears). A gentle scrub will remove any that are loose - you definately do not want to get down to live cells! It'd feel like a bad sunburn if you did, and expose you to easy infection.

You can use a personal hygiene brush (found at Walgreen's etc.) or toothbrush on your facial skin. You just gently rub in circles until your skin is slightly pink. For super flaky skin areas (my lips in winter) you can use honey with big sugar in it (not regular sugar). Big grain size sugar can be found in a baking aisle. I wouldn't recommend using it on you face though because it could cause scabbing and pain. For the rest of your body use a loofah the same way you did on your face. Make sure not to touch things you've used on your body to your face, including towels. Doing so spreads bacteria.
Don't use olive oil if you have acne. It will clog your pores.

The BEST scrub is plain old baking soda with a little water mixed to form a paste. It'll make your skin smooth and clear.
